Description
“Fire Heart Poppy” is pure expression of my delight from poppies. It also was part of my palette growth, as I was testing myself to see how my earthy paint palette could still exude the fiery energy of these powerful flowers, while still have that come-hither, calming aura.
As I dove into this, drawing from Georgia O’Keefe’s color and expressive, yet representative composition approach I have most of my painting career, I also could not help but note the poppy I encountered, as do most of them, created a heart shape. That made complete sense to me. Especially because for me, knowing nature is knowing love! I sense nature as love, so here we are, with this poppy with passion, a heart on fire for nature and all of life. My hope is this piece is welcomed into a home and heart that shares this.
