Description
This work has been on quite the journey, like myself! It sat waiting patiently for me, through school time, and some long travels for a recent work assignment. Upon my return, I moved right into it, since my solo drive across the U.S. revealed so much. What it revealed is just like trees, as they let go of the leaves that cooperated in the cycles of sustaining life, trees have so much going on under the surface – a mirror to us a humans.
So, this process is what I embrace. Moving into the winter of what can be a quiet, contemplative time as our natural humanness requires. Grounding into Autumn is a full of the roughness of transition in its textured approach amidst the smoothness, the bright energy from the dying leaves, yet promise of life energy bright and well beneath the surface. I love pulling out my palette knife and creating textures like this, as it helps my to fully convey the experience going on deep within.
