The Octopus: calm clarity, compassion and creative intelligence. I have always been fascinated by their aura, their smooth movement, their character, and feel connected to the lessons they offer. Orly, here, was drawn from years of painting octopus, mostly from reference sketches from the Seattle Aquarium’s OctoCam program, when I got the privilege of a rare glimpse from the dock in Friday Harbor. Drawing from the amazing stories I connect with such as Octopus Teacher and The Soul of an Octopus.
