Swans mean peace to me…
I love swans. I go to swans when I feel uneasy as they show me how to be more graceful when drawing important boundaries for myself and others around me. Swans have very strong boundaries, and are devoted to their families.
My year began with a new challenge – to fly solo in life after many years with a partner. This was both terrifying and oddly began to feel peaceful. A lonely peaceful, yet either way, I was surprised by how much I needed this. As I began this work in the dark of winter…the pending loneliness, I started with those dark elements surrounding her. Yet, she emerged with bright, swirling feathers as she curved her graceful neck to self-comfort. This was me over the winter of 2020. Peace amidst the solitude, and strength.
My wish is for Peaceful Slumber to arrive to the person who understands the serendipity of the peace that arrives from solace – the strength that arrives when one claims their independence and ends up seeing incredible abilities and remembering oneself and purpose.
