Description
Oh there is quite the story around this one, like all artworks.
These beauties are not what one may think. They are whales of other pods, saying hello to each other, gathering to prepare to fish together….getting to know each other to learn about each other and communicate and strategize on forming a “bubble.” The bubble is their fishing technique where they circle around and around blowing a bubble trap for fish so they can all share in their nourishment as a team. I had the privilege of learning all of this, and inspiration from the amazing photography, hard work and research at SR3.org.
Whales, and all of nature when we pay attention, teach us exactly what community means.
Let’s imagine, what if humans really took notes on this? Is this not true community, harmony? Sustainability?
I think so. This is why I made the decision to edit my book, Natural Self Discovery, to allow time to transform within my process as a painter, designer, communicator and now emerging leader to inspire harmony of people and planet within the Executive MPA at Evan’s School at the University of Washington. This also leads to my re-launching of my brand design & strategy consulting business, as I finalize the development of frameworks to bring the lessons from nature and art into the places which need it most: civic and corporate leadership practices.
20% of the proceeds of this piece will be going to SeaLife.org, as their drone photography and ongoing research is vital to the sustainability for whales, which, is connected to human sustainability.
